You know what son, I didn’t think we’d be standing here right now face to face, but we did it. You and several thousand other people have made it through four long days of words and briefings and boredom and… you get my point.

Mercenaries, line up! Here’s your weapons, upgrade canteens, and a funny looking hat. Board your lines and prepare yourselves for Operation: Digital Directive, now live on Creators.TF servers!

Medal of Honor

April 09, 2021 17:32 • Creators.TF Blog

Let me ask you this son, do you like Christmas presents underneath the tree and opening them in front of your loving family? Well good for you, because I've never had that experience as a kid.

On a warmer note, today’s briefing includes the magnificent loot you get as a result of your hard work out on the battlefield. It might not be pretty, it might look like a lump of sad metal looking for a family (like me), but it’ll have to do since we’ve already blown the budget 17 times over.

Check out what we have in store for you on the Day 3 update page!

Robot Augmentations

So, Digital Directive huh? If you’re thinking that this is some weird technology-infused hiking trail, then you’d be completely wrong! Hiking is for babies, walking is for big, strong men!

Today’s briefing notes for our campaign include some of the more technical changes that you men will have to face out in that robotic wilderness. You may think that we’re entirely in the dust, but we’ve got some snazzy magic tricks up our sleeves that are sure to make Gray Mann go up in a puff of smoke!

File yourselves into the briefing room, and start reading the Day 2 update page!

What’s better than shooting mercenaries in the face? Cream donuts? No! Insane riches? You’ve gotta be kidding me. A feeling better than killing people in cold blood is killing ROBOTS in UBER-filled revenge!

Announcing, Operation: Digital Directive, a community-made Mann vs Machine campaign created by Creators.TF and Potato’s Custom MvM Servers. With 30 new missions across 22 maps, plus some brand new gameplay additions, this is gonna be one hell of a campaign across the world!

What are you waiting for? Get into the briefing room and check out the Day 1 update page!

2021 / 04 / 06 - MANN CO HEADQUARTERS
UNKNOWN (2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334)

Hahahaha. You really think you’re something aren’t you? A big tough Australian man in a big skyscraper out in the middle of nowhere who has a baby for a brain.

I’ll tell ya something you old crook, your words mean nothing to me. They meant so little to me that I framed your strongly-worded letter that came right off the press and I hung it up on my wall. I proceeded to smash that frame with a sledgehammer, and the pieces of glass and wood that remained were discarded in the fire that’s currently making my new and improved ROBOTS.

I’m sure that the Russian meatbag, Boston boy, German doofus, and that wannabe Frenchman are gonna be just fine out on the battlefield. This is war Saxton, and the clock is counting down.

I would wish you good luck, but I don’t think you deserve it.

Your obedient servant,

screeeeeeeeeeeeech CRASH!

Mwahahahaha! It’s me! The blog post writer in a pickle suit! Now you might be wondering: “What the hell was he drinking last night, and did he just crash a car through a wall?”. To answer your questions: Pure ethanol and that crashed car will cost the Creators.TF team 2 gazillion dollars.

The reason why I’ve decided to crash through the wall today is because I have invented a brand new way of fighting other mercenaries out on the battlefield! Introducing… The Dell Pickle! Wait… why aren’t any of you applauding this massive advance in human technology? I’ve spent YEARS working on this concept! I had to learn how to weld, program and go through mental rehab all at the same time! You know what, you people are stupid and uncultred; I’m outta here!

Join me in pursuing this advanced human technology by going to the Creators.TF Store to buy yours today! Run quickly now!

Oh crap, I forgot I broke the car... It was Moonly’s fault, not mine!

Good [SPECIFY_TIME_HERE_MEATBAG] Mercenaries! Today’s update is a doozy, because we’ve got three crates of content for the price of one blog post!

First things first: we’re announcing a Closed Beta Test for our upcoming event!

  • From today to Wednesday, March 31st, patrons will receive a closed beta access ticket in their Creators.TF inventory allowing them to join and queue for what's to come! If you are a patron, follow the steps shown on our latest post on patreon to receive a ticket.
  • Following that, from April 1st to April 4th, the beta test will then be opened to a wider range of community members. Stay tuned in the coming days on our Discord for how to obtain an access ticket during this time.
If you’re not already a patron, you can sign up through our Donate page and pledge any amount. Then, follow the steps on our latest post on patreon, which is only viewable by patrons, and you'll receive access to the closed beta! Once a beta ticket is received, simply click the Find a Server button, and help us test the incoming rush for the rest of our mercenaries.

By helping us test new content, you’re making sure that our engineers haven’t left any critical bugs and that our servers won’t crash and burn on release.

Map Rotation Shakeup

Next up! It’s time yet again for a map rotation shakeup!

For this shakeup, we decided to travel back to some of the classics that we all know and love, but also introduce some fresh new death zones that you can poke around and splatter blood and buckets of guts all over.

Wanting to get a rush of nostalgia? Why not head back to some of the well known classics like Dustbowl, Freight, Highpass, Powerhouse and Steel? We also have a great community map, Cascade, joining our rotation!

As always, we welcome your feedback about the map rotation on our Discord.

New Project Lead

And now, an incoming transmission from Creators.TF new Project Lead, Nanochip:

"Hello everyone. For those who don’t know who I am, my name is Nanochip. I have been managing and leading the project internally since the middle of January. Moonly Days has designated me in this position so that we can make sure future events are released smoothly without issues.

A lot has happened in the past few months, both with the servers themselves and the internal structuring of our team. This has been in response to all the lessons we learned during last year. Furthermore, expect to see much more communication from the team moving forward.

Moonly's role as Lead Developer has not changed, he still is the creator and founder of Creators.TF. However from this point on, I will publicly bear the responsibility of leading the project and the outreach with the community, including the delegation of tasks to each team member and coordinating deadlines.

The next big event is just around the corner. I can't wait to show you all what we've been working on for the past few months. If you wish to contact me, I can be reached at nanochip@creators.tf or poke me in the Discord."

- Nanochip

That’s all we have in store for this triple-flavor-fruit burst of an update, see you guys locked and loaded out on the battlefield!

Wait a second... Hey! Who left this letter lying around? Get rid of it!

Mercenaries, listen up! Have you ever wanted to steal the briefcase from the enemy team for hours and hours on end? Have you ever wanted to rush the Control Point as our ancestors did in the 5th century with swords, battle axes, and arrows? Well, all of your wildest dreams are coming true. Introducing Creators.TF Alternative Gamemode servers! One server in each region has been converted into these Alternative Gamemodes, with maps coming from game modes that aren’t played often like Player Destruction, Capture the Flag and Payload Race.

In other news today, The times of Smissmas are over. Yup. Completely done. Finished. No more. The snow is slowly melting away, and we’ll be sending all of your retrieved presents to Australian Santa Claus. As I was a statistics nerd in a previous life, I have some data about how well you performed this year:

7,253 players collected a total of 1,167,967 gifts for their Gifting Lantern, with the top players being:

Thank you all for your Smissmas spirit! The spirit of Saint Nick has left the top three a final present as a thank you for all of your hard efforts.

Next order of business! Our workshop! In case you weren't already aware, we have our own workshop where content creators can import their maps, cosmetics, warpaints, and other items, and they have the chance of being featured in one of our future content updates! If you're a content creator or know one, think about importing your content into our workshop. We love seeing your content and we want to try and feature as much as we can. Often times we see new maps from our workshop in our Rotation Shakeup updates. Speaking of Rotation Shakeups, we'd like to gather your feedback on vanilla maps here as we make adjustments to our map pool.

We’ve also made a lot of changes to our servers over the last week, including some new commands that might be handy to know.
Check out the rest of the patch notes here, and we hope you have a very good year in 2021! We can’t wait to show you what we have in store.

Snowed-In Smissmas

December 16, 2020 22:13 • Creators.TF Blog

Ho ho ho Mercs! It is me, the legit Australian Santa Claus (and not just the blog post writer in a thrift shop Santa suit)!
While I was overseeing the present manufacturing factory (or in this case, watching color television) the funny looking man on the weather forecast said "Due to a severe snowstorm, certain battlegrounds may be closed due to heavy snow cast over the Teufort area. Prepare a warm, but not explosive fire, and settle in for the long haul as this storm passes."

Now I don’t know about you funny-looking weatherman, but I’ve got presents to deliver, and having little Mercenaries trapped inside without any fun and violence on Christmas Day just doesn’t sound like a whole lot of fun to me. Coincidently, the Creators.TF Team in their headquarters were desperate to have a Smissmas update to finish off the year. So with my Christmas magic (not just the blog writer waving a pencil around like a wand), and the talent of the community, the Creators.TF team and I have gotten together to create the Snowed-In Smissmas update!

So, what are we putting into your stockings this year? Well, Dr. Watson, it’s quite simple really. The short, stubby, and leftover mercenaries that I call "elves" have managed to produce 14 new cosmetics, each created to the highest of our standards! Make sure you wrap yourself up tightly so you don’t freeze to death (it’s very expensive for Santa Claus to move dead bodies around the place), and stay close to your furry companions that sit on your belts because they're your only friends in this cold and harsh world.

Now, if we want to leave the boredom of our bases, and get that rush of violence we all love, we’re gonna need some maps for you to play on. So we’ve rented out six maps for you to play on (once we’re able to shovel away all of the snow that’s trapping us all inside). We even have returning maps from our original Smissmas update, oh how time flies!

*ahem* For those mercenaries who are especially gifted (get it?), we have a special item for those people who get all of the awards and trophies at their school prizegiving, and you can barely take them off stage yourself. Introducing the Gifting Lantern! The Smissmas Gargoyle! Now gather around kids, it’s lore time!

Long long ago… back in the time of 2010… Old Nick descended on the town of Teufort while some of the mercs were completing court-ordered community service. He was later killed by a small kid by the first known use of the Spy-cicle. Later that night when the janitor was having his 2.5-minute bathroom break, the spirit of Old Nick was sucked out of his frozen body, and it was infused into the janitor's lantern. Nobody knew about the true power of the lantern until the janitor was found dead in the mall the next morning, right next to the Christmas displays. It’s been hiding in storage since that day, and nobody knows if-

Sorry, sorry! I’m just rubbing out the last piece of that lore as we WILL be needing the lantern this time around.
Presents will drop out of the corpses of your enemies, and your job is to collect them all back for us! If we all manage to work together to reclaim our presents, we can save the spirit of this Snowed-in Smissmas.
Now, it’s time to find the elf who caused this to happen in the first place...

What’s a little violence without music as well? For decades, music has influenced the way that mercenaries fight in the gravel pits. If we need to get back all of these presents, then some sick and fresh beats are required to get you into the fighting spirit! Introducing: Music Kits! These are special items that when equipped, will play new and unique music depending on the action each round. Want some thrill by capturing the control point? Well, we have two new tracks for you to jam out to!

  • Into The Centre Of The Earth, our first Music Kit made by our partners over at TFConnect (be a jolly mercenary and donate to their campaign here! Donations are open till January 1st!). This kit will give you the feeling of beating in your enemies with a metal bat, just like any baseball league player would!
  • Gravel Slaughter is our second Music Kit made by our in-house musician MrModez Pineapple. Whenever you get bored of capturing the same point 15 times each game, turn on this kit and your gameplay will instantly improve (this product is not scientifically tested, results may vary. If you experience any symptoms of headache, earworm, or unconsciousness, please see your nearest Medic)!

So, how's that for Christmas this year? Cosmetics, maps, a lantern, and some music for your ears! After this Christmas, I might go travel to New Zealand for a good summer vacation. Hopefully, Mann Co doesn't explode or anything while I'm gone!

See you next year!
- Australian Santa Claus and the Creators.TF Team.
