Creators.TF :: Blog

Greetings! In the near future, we plan to make some changes to our project based on the feedback that we've received over the course of two months.

To improve variety in our map rotation we've decided to add a few official TF2 maps into our servers. Which ones? You decide - we ask you to choose your favorite maps from a poll. The top 3 maps from each game mode will be included in the rotation of our upcoming event.

UPDATE: Poll over! Thank you for voting!

After some postponing, and because Santa wanted a rest, the Self-Made Smissmas event has come to an end. Thanks to everyone who played it!

We're currently aiming for the first week of February to release the next event, which will be themed around vanilla Team Fortress 2 content. This one will also, of course, include new contracts, maps, cosmetics and some new features, such as the ability to scrap items (This one was highly requested by you!) Yes, your inventory will finally be clean and organized.

If you are the author of an item or map for Team Fortress 2 and want to see it in our servers - submit it via our form on the right side of the website. See you soon!

Self-Made Smissmas!

December 26, 2019 18:00 • Creators.TF Blog

Every year in TF2, players look forward to the annual Smissmas update, as it holds a special place in their hearts. Because of this, we thought, "Screw it, let's make our own!"

Introducing the Self-Made Smissmas event! This is the first event we've ever released, and hopefully you enjoy it as much as we do, because we really like it! This event has been made possible due to a ton of work from the developers, the potted plant, Source modders, and artists, of the Creators.TF team. We've been so busy with this that we hadn't even decided on a name for the update until it was practically finished. It's okay though, who needs a good name when the content can speak for itself?

There have been many hints and teasers of this update, so if you're even remotely interested in seeing those and much more, you can join us in our official Discord server.

We very much look forward to working with the community to implement fun, new, and interesting content in 2020. Happy Smissmas and Happy New Year!

Content Submissions

December 13, 2019 13:13 • Creators.TF Blog

While we opened up applications for people who want to help specifically with the development of our project, we've reached the stage where we need to look for content that will be included in our first community update.

If you are the author of content made for the Team Fortress 2 Workshop, you can send it to us for review. This means any type of submissions are welcome: Cosmetics, Maps, Weapons, Taunts, Unusual Effects, War Paints, etc.

But before you go, here is what you need to know:

  • Every item or map included in our project will be accessible for free by anyone. This means no real-world money is required to play with new content.
  • Every item you get by playing on our servers will be located in your website inventory. Player loadouts will also be manageable on the website, and will be automatically changed in-game.
  • If your item is included in one of our new update, you will get a Self-Made copy of the item in your Creators.TF Inventory. If you made a map, you will get a Self-Made map stamp.
  • If an item or map we've accepted is officially added in Team Fortress 2, the item will be marked as "disabled" and will be removed from our servers, permanently. We do not want to interfere with official TF2 Economy.

Fill out this form below and submit content to potentially be used in future updates.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at support@creators.tf.

Our first update will be ready closer to the end of the month - we need more time to prepare everything for the release. Thank you for being patient!

Thank you all very much for your interest and excitement surrounding our project. Right now, we're getting so many requests, we barely have the time to read them all! With that being said, we are glad there are so many.

As we analyzed all of the applications, we realized: "Hey, we're not a company. We are first and foremost.. a community." It wouldn't feel right if we took the assistance of only a few people out of many. Everyone has the right to participate.

That is why we needed a place of communication, somewhere where we can discuss our ideas and concepts. That's right, we're talking about a Discord server. Join our Discord server, tell us about yourself, and stay in the know about the project!

Welcome to Creators.TF

November 16, 2019 18:35 • Creators.TF Blog

Over the past few years, Team Fortress 2 has been receiving far less attention from developers, yet the game is still very much relevant. While we could continue to wait in endless anticipation, we can also take the game into our own hands! The goal of this project is to try and make unofficial updates to our beloved game with the help of community created content and, very importantly, with the authentic Team Fortress 2 spirit in mind.

This project is a great undertaking. That is why we address you, the TF2 community! We need the help of everyone who can and wants to do something to extend the life of our beloved game! We are introducing our brand new, (hopefully) game-saving community project designed to make custom community-driven updates!
